Jewish Funds for Justice is helping to coordinate transportation from New York to Washington, DC to help facilitate Jewish participation in the September 7th national mobilization for immigrant rights. The effort to mobilize Jewish support is a project of the Jewish Task Force for Comprehensive Immigration Reform, a broad coalition of twenty Jewish organizations recently co-convened by JFSJ and the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.
At the mobilization, we will join with groups from across the country calling for:
- Path to citizenship for millions of hard-working immigrants here today and those who come in the future.
- Keeping all of our families together by reducing backlogs and ending deportations.
- Protections for immigrant and U.S.-born workers.
- Strong protections of civil rights & civil liberties for all.
There are a limited number of seats available so click here to reserve your spot today. JFSJ WILL NOT BE PROVIDING BUS TRANSPORTATION TO THE RALLY. However, many other groups in New York will have buses and we can help you find a seat on one of those buses. However, these buses will not ensure that your reach DC in time for the 1PM lunch and learn (see below).
At 1PM, the Jewish contingent (from NY, DC & everywhere else) will gather at the George Washington University Hillel (23rd and H, NW) for lunch, learning on Judaism and immigration, sign-making and socializing. From there, we will walk together to the mall for the 4PM rally.
Buses will leave at approximately 6:30 PM from RFK stadium (blue or orange line to the Stadium/Armory station). Those who wish to stay in DC longer may join in a march to the White House from 6-8PM.
