Are you ready to take the Service Challenge?

"We need your service, right now, in this moment - our moment - in history. I'm not going to tell you what your role should be; that's for you to discover. But I am going to ask you to play your part; ask you to stand up; ask you to put your foot firmly into the current of history. I am asking you to change history's course.”
-- Barack Obama, December 5, 2007

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, only twenty-four hours before he was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama heeded his own call to service. That day he visited an emergency shelter for homeless teens, grabbing a paint roller to help give the walls a fresh coat of blue.

At the same time, hundreds of miles away, a group of young Jews had rolled up their sleeves to help rebuild a home devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Three-and-a-half years have passed since the levees broke, yet many communities must still rely on volunteers to help them rebuild.

At the JFSJ Service Corps, we have taken President Obama's challenge to serve seriously. And we want to help you do the same.

That's why for the first 100 days of the Obama Presidency, we are subsidizing the cost of our Service Corps trips for the first 100 volunteers. That means that going on one of our amazing trips with your fellow Atlantans will cost you only 44 bucks.

For the price of video game you can join us on a long weekend to get hands-on experience in service, learn personally about local communities, and gain a Jewish perspective on the issues. By putting aside your Wii for some we, you can, as Obama put it, "put your foot firmly into the current of history." Are you in? Be of the first 100 volunteers to sign up!
